pinching myself!

Memories in Uniform turned five years old this May... five years! I can't believe how we've grown, changed, matured as a company:-) I have often said to friends that having your own business is like having an infant in the family... constantly needing your attention, waking you up in the middle of the night, depriving you of sleep and money (lol!) and overall being a dreamy yet exhausting little creature. I can't say there haven't been moments when I haven't wanted to walk away, but hey, you wouldn't leave your baby to fend for themselves, would you?!

so here's the pinching myself part... (besides having a milestone birthday as a company!) we are on the cusp of absolute FANTASTIC things ahead. Much of the good news came during the recent CHA show in Chicago during which I became so overwhelmed with emotion that I just had to step away from the booth and collect myself:-) It's all good, and we're not going anywhere, so no need to worry... I will share in time, but suffice it to say that I really feel our dream of getting service members and their families to document and share their military stories is coming to life.

oh, I almost forgot... one thing I can share (that is tied to some of our really great things ahead) is that are now in process with the patent on our albums! Woohoo!! My hands were shaking as I handed off the application to the postal worker... great things ahead, great things ahead! Stay tuned:-)

what 14 years looks like...

14 years ago... I was a mere 20 years old marrying my college sweetheart. 14 years ago it was just the two of us, getting ready to embark on life, finishing college, dreams wide open. 9 addresses later here we are... 2 kids, 2 cats, and a 3 car garage, with many more chapters to write. Happy Anniversary Hawk, I love you even more than I did 14 years ago;)
