Memories in Uniform was conceived in May 2002 as a webstore dedicated to military theme scrapbook products. Fast forward to July 2003 and we are now a wholesale only company specializing in sophisticated military laser designs. It was a difficult decision to leave etailing behind, but one we felt would ultimately benefit our customers in the end. As a manufacturer, we are thrilled to be able to provide the scrapbook world a new kind of military product for their albums. Clean, well designed, true to life, our laser cuts are the best of the best!
Tom, MIU designer, recently resigned from active duty Navy and is currently serving in the Air Force reserve (the only services he hasn't tried are Coast Guard and Marine Corps!). He holds a BS in industrial design from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA (Go Vikings!)- this is where Amy & Tom met and married 12 years ago! Being able to use his artistic ability while still serving his country in the Air Force is a treat for Tom.
Amy, president of MIU, has been scrapbooking for over 9 years- (longer if you count all the years of construction paper and non-acid free products!) Amy also graduated from Western with a BA in Human Services- a subject that will stay near and dear for life! Being a wife, mom, and president of a growing company has created unique challenges for her, but she'll be the first to tell you how much she enjoys all of her jobs!
Together, it is our mission to help you capture the honor and courage of our armed forces on your scrapbook pages. It is also our hope that you find a sense of community here~ people who understand just where you're at. We are excited to be serving and scrapping with you!
The Lord has blessed us with each other, our family, our talents, and with this business. We owe all our success to Him!
May the Lord bless you in your journeys,
Tom and Amy Alfaro
